GPA/N Needs Your Help
GPA/N works collaboratively with adopters, rescue, humane and other greyhound groups and the racing industry to find homes for retired racers and greyhounds in need. Each year, 22,000 greyhounds retire from U.S. tracks in need of homes.

GPA NashvilleOur adoption application, intake and home visit process helps us identify appropriate homes for these gentle, loving dogs and match people with compatible greyhounds. Retired racers are uniquely suited to live as companion animals. Affectionate and calm, they thrive on human attention and interaction, adjust well to home life and repay the kindness of their people with faithfulness and devotion.

What we do
Based in Nashville, Tenn., GPA/N gets adoptable greyhounds from tracks in West Memphis, Ark., Birmingham, Ala. and Pensacola, Fla. We also accept for placement greyhounds whose owners can no longer keep them. Our adoption territory includes Middle Tennessee, Western Kentucky and Northern Alabama. In 2005, 90 greyhounds found homes through GPA/N. GPA/N is a chapter of Greyhound Pets of America, the nation’s largest, most comprehensive greyhound adoption organization.

How we do it
Our funding comes from donations, adoption fees and in-kind gifts from individuals and companies as well as our annual silent auction, Winter Gathering and yard sale. As a 501(c)3 organization, all donations to GPA/Nashville are tax deductible.
